Vibrant Oxon Hill Manor Wedding - Julius and Tasha - Maryland Wedding Photography
Do you ever pull into an entryway and get excited over the grand view that you see? I felt this way pulling into Oxon Hill Manor. Living in Maryland, I am privileged to be surrounded by many historical locations and lovely wedding venues in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Oxon Hill Manor was built in 1929 but the property has a history that spans from 1711. This location was where Julius and Tasha wed on April 21, 2017 - and what a wonderful day it was!
I met Julius and Tasha last fall to discuss their wedding photography and immediately hit it off. I remember they both wanted to stay true to their personalities in their wedding details! I love to see how the wedding day comes together to reflect each couple and especially love when different cultures are represented - like the mix of Tasha’s Jamaican family with Julius’ American roots! As a Venezuelan-American, multi-cultural couples have a special place in my heart.
April can be fickle with its weather and intermittent pouring showers kept everyone waiting to see if the sun would shine for the couple’s vows. Aisha and her wonderful staff from Never-Ending Moments along with the Oxon Hill staff did an excellent job drying chairs after it poured 20 minutes before the ceremony start time. From the ceremony, guests caught glimpses of the National Harbor. The clouds added a special dose of drama to the elegant environment of Julius and Tasha’s wedding as they exchanged vows.
One thing I really enjoyed about Julius and Tasha’s wedding was their vibrancy. Not only through the setting and chosen colors of blue, gold, and corral, but also through their personalities. Julius was very involved in planning for the wedding day and Tasha had a secret surprise waiting for him to kick off the reception dancing after the toasts! They both were more than ready to celebrate with family and friends, so when the carnival dancers came into the reception tent holding flags from Jamaica and the United States, Julius was the first to jump in, quickly followed by most of the guests. It was a celebration that will be remembered for many years to come for everyone present!
Thank you Julius and Tasha for giving me the privilege of being your wedding photographer and congratulations on your marriage!
