Allison and Ryan’s wedding day was filled with Baltimore charm and the beauty of an intimate gathering of their close family and friends. The city showed off it’s summer glory (aka, abundance of heat) which reminded me of childhood summer days spent quickly slurping orange sherbet from the cone before it melted into ice cream soup all over sticky fingers. From the very beginning, Allison and Ryan were determined that their day would be focused on fun, family, and friends. They chose Rawling's Conservatory as their ceremony venue after they fell in love with the beautiful historic building and garden atmosphere. Allison and Ryan got ready separately at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. From first stepping into the cool hotel room, I was struck by the intimacy and calm demeanor from Allison as she prepared for the ceremony. Ryan’s family came in from out of town a few days earlier, so they had a chance to catch up with a few family dinners beforehand. I asked Allison while she was getting ready, what moment she was most looking forward to in the hours to come. Immediately all of the emotions appeared on Allison's face as she almost began to cry when she thought about the wedding vows she would soon be speaking to Ryan. It was so touching and thankfully no makeup was smudged in the process (although, makeup can always be re-applied)!

The sun poured into the conservatory as Ryan waited for Allison to come down the aisle. The two exchanged their vows among a small gathering of family and friends who witnessed their lifelong commitment to one another. The ceremony was followed by cocktails at the conservatory and a sit down dinner at Aldo’s in Little Italy. Before heading to the reception, the three of us explored and took portraits around the different rooms in Rawling's. It’s so wonderful how different plants can remind one so starkly of different environments, from a tropical forest to a warm dessert. Allison and Ryan were so relaxed throughout their day and focused on enjoying each moment of the beginning of their new chapter together. Congratulations Allison and Ryan!
