Raven + Jamin | Old Town Alexandria Engagement | DC Wedding Photography

I met with Raven and Jamin on Sunday for their engagement session in Old Town Alexandria. If you are local to the DMV area, you know the weather this spring has been extremely fickle (Darn Mother Nature!) but thankfully, we had clear skies and relatively warmer weather for their session!

Raven and Jamin love the vibe in Old Town Alexandria and shared that they had friends who were married in the area which helped them choose this area as a perfect spot for their engagement portraits. They also will be getting married in a more wooded environment (a camp local to Frederick Maryland where they met!) and wanted something a little different for their engagement portraits! Being a Baltimore and Annapolis Maryland Wedding Photographer, I am relatively close to Alexandria but had not previously had the opportunity to photograph portraits there. As soon as I arrived, I fell in love with the historic atmosphere and cobblestone streets. We started at Wilkes Street Tunnel and headed further downtown from there towards the water.

Let me tell you about Raven and Jamin: I LOVED how Raven couldn’t keep from smiling and laughing with Jamin. Raven also had her wedding hair/makeup trial done by Lauren at Glam Bridal Beauty right before the session and looked stunning! They both have such beautiful personalities that mesh so well together. Raven braved the streets with her wedge heels (which would have come off MY feet in about 5 seconds!). I had this crazy idea to try and attract a few birds (photographic purposes of course which didn’t quite work!) and we jokingly made bird-calls on the pier. I love letting my client’s personalities shine during sessions and to have some fun in the process! Raven and Jamin, I’m so excited to capture your wedding in October in Frederick, MD!
