Inn At Osprey Point Wedding | Maura + Alex | Maryland Wedding Photographer
We are midway through January and I hope you are slaying your goals for 2020 but remembering to give grace to yourself too in this new year! Speaking of grace, I’m continuing my catchup of blogging my 2019 weddings and excited to share all about photographing Maura and Alex’s eastern shore wedding!
Maura and Alex are self proclaimed nerds in love who truly made their wedding day their own! Maura and Alex met through mutual friends (actually more like friends of friends) while at a young professionals happy hour in Dupont Circle in June of 2017. Alex caught Maura’s eye first because, well, Alex was busy reading one of the Dresden Files novels - at a bar! They hit it off and decided to make it official after Alex proposed in August of 2018. From the beginning, they knew they wanted a casual yet classy wedding with their family and friends - a day where they could feel like themselves.
Loving water, Maura and Alex chose the Inn at Osprey Point for their galaxy themed wedding. The day before their wedding, storms up north caused a higher than normal tide to happen on the eastern shore, making the Inn’s original tent to be under water. Not to worry though, they brought in and set up another tent. The water also caused a few snake friends to be closer to the shore than normal and the guests enjoyed watching them lounge on rocks (from a safe distance). Even with the water situation, the day went smoothly. Maura and Alex shared their vows under the trees by the gazebo and danced the night away under the full moon. Guests took the galaxy theme to heart and incorporated the theme in their own outfits and Maura broke out galaxy Converse (and a 2nd dress!) for the reception. Their wedding cake was also covered in stars and was a work of art!
Congratulations Maura and Alex on your wedding! Here’s to more exciting moments for you both in your first year of marriage!
