Longwood Gardens Engagement Portraits | Kerra + Mike | Baltimore Wedding Photographer
You may think that February 1st may not be the ideal date to have your engagement portraits photographed, but with two people in love, magic can happen whatever the date! Although, having your engagement portraits photographed at Longwood Gardens does not hurt AT ALL. When Kerra and Mike asked if I would be up to adventuring to Longwood Gardens for their session I said YES! This was my first trip there, but knowing that the gardens are an important place for Kerra and Mike made all the difference.
Kerra and Mike’s relationship together from friendship to long-distance dating (while Mike served in the military) to engagement has been a journey, but one where you know there will be a happy ending. Spending time with them, you can tell they are head over heels in love while maintaining that groundedness which can really only happen with time and living-life together. Mike knows how to make Kerra smile in the best grin-until-it-hurts way while she teases him back for making such goofy faces. Although the weather was incredibly overcast and foggy, that did not keep these two from enjoying their time as they walked to their favorite spots at Longwood Gardens including where Mike proposed to Kerra in December 2018.
Although Mike had done his best to keep it a secret, Kerra knew that the proposal was coming. One key clue was that he had orchestrated both their parents to visit Longwood Gardens on this specific trip. Kerra’s parents have a membership and visit frequently but Mike’s parents made the trek from Virginia to enjoy Christmas at the Gardens. They all explored the gardens until Mike landed on the perfect spot - right in front of the reflection pool. It was wonderful to revisit this spot during their engagement session and to hear how the proposal unfolded. I know that their Milton Ridge Wedding will be perfect as well and I can’t wait!
