Spring Beach Wedding - Kyleen and Frank - Myrtle Beach, SC

Last fall, Kyleen asked me to photograph her wedding in Myrtle beach South Carolina. Kyleen and Frank had a courthouse wedding in 2016 and planned to celebrate their marriage with family and friends at their favorite spot on the beach. Although I am a Maryland Wedding Photographer, I love a good adventure and enjoy the beach. Kyleen is my husband’s cousin, which added to the excitement of a family affair at the beach. A few days before Easter we packed up (pups and all) to take the 9 hour trek to South Carolina. I was on puppy duty while Kyle, my husband, drove. The trip went smoothly as we arrived and got settled at our rental in Myrtle Beach. The wedding was held the next day, Friday, April 14th on the beach. I woke up, got ready, triple checked my gear and headed over to where Kyleen was getting ready to “walk down the aisle” (which in this case was a sandy, breezy spot). Kyleen and Frank are relaxed, fun loving people who enjoy vacations in Myrtle Beach, so it was a fitting spot for their commitment of love and marriage. The sky was blue, sun bright, as the sound of the ocean greeted guests. The wedding colors were inspired by the beachy atmosphere - turquoise, cremes, and white. The ceremony was followed by a few portraits on the beach with the bridal party with the reception being held close by at the Cooper House, a historic site and event center. Surrounded by aged trees covered with spanish moss, the Cooper House property is a rustic, wooded location full of southern charm. Before the sun set, we were able to sneak away from the party to capture a few more intimate portraits of Kyleen and Frank. This is something that I encourage for couples - to be able to get away from the busyness of the day to have a few moments together! Although Kyleen and Frank's dedication to each-other started a year before when they exchanged their vows and were legally married, there can never be enough reminders, enough pauses to savor this beautiful thing called marriage.
