In-Home Lifestyle Portraits | Cosner Family | Annapolis Portrait Photography
I met Emily about 5 or 6 years ago when my husband and I were checking out groups at our *then* new church - Mosaic. It really is crazy to think about how many stages of Russell and Emily’s life I’ve had the opportunity to witness, from dating-engagement-marriage to now! I remember about a year and a half ago, walking with Emily and hearing her share about her desire to have a child and grow in her role as a mother. I know it was not an easy journey as she and Russell walked in faith throughout that time. Little did Russell and Emily know that a double blessing was just around the corner! Last July, while in the process of exploring fertility treatments, Emily’s doctor excitedly called and told her that she was pregnant! The bonus surprise came a few weeks later with the realization that she was pregnant with twins! I was honored to capture the Cosner’s maternity portraits in December and blessed to also capture these intimate moments during their in-home newborn session in the early May. It was especially sweet to watch Deacon and Flynn’s big sister Kalliope interacting with her baby brothers.
I know with blessings also comes stretching and growth (literally and figuratively). I love Emily's vulnerability throughout the process and watching her step into this new season. What she shared recently with family and friends was so beautiful: "Twelve weeks ago we brought our sweet boys home from the hospital. It's been HARD. Like really hard. I love it. I love being a mama. I love when peace and joy wash over them because they know I am there. I am grateful for seasoned mom friends and newish mom friends, my family, my wonderful husband and partner, my friends and my community - seriously we couldn't have done it without you all. I am thankful I could be real and vulnerable. As much as it’s been hard, it’s been a fun, rewarding and a truly sacred time. The snuggles and smiles are simply amazing and the best is yet to come."
