Greenspring Valley Hunt Club | Isabel + Bix | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

This spring continues to keep us all on our toes. One day it is sunny and 70 degrees while the next it’s rainy and dips into the 40’s! Whenever I have a wedding scheduled, it’s so tempting to continually look at the weather forecast but the best thing is to be prepared for anything while taking each moment in stride. The forecast for the weekend of May 4th kept changing the degree of torrential showers but regardless, we were ready to celebrate Isabel and Bix’s Derby themed Greenspring Valley Hunt Club Wedding.

Isabel and Bix currently live in Brooklyn, New York and met through tinder in February 2016. That June, the couple got more serious, especially after navigating the loss of a loved one which cemented their relationship. Last summer while staying at Isabel’s sister’s home in the Hamptons, they both were working from home during the day when Bix suggested that they should have drinks on the beach that evening. She could tell he seemed a little off which later made more sense after he proposed!

Isabel is originally from Baltimore and is the youngest of 6 (which we have in common!). Greenspring Valley Hunt Club was Isabel’s childhood country club and it was the perfect location for Isabel and Bix to host their wedding. Isabel’s mother Stuart is a master at wedding planning as she’s navigated the process already with many of her children and helped plan out the day. The focus was on having fun with those gathered and thankfully, the rain held so that the ceremony was able to be held outside on the green.

Derby Day was one of the reasons that the couple chose May 4th for their wedding and had a betting table set up during cocktail hour. A trumpetier from the band signaled the guests to gather to watch the racing before heading upstairs to the stunning reception room where the band greeted guests. It was truly wonderful to capture the celebration, from the emotional toasts to the guests opening the monogrammed party poppers and of course, dancing late into the night.
