When Kai first saw Huai when they were children in Burma, he thought she was an angel. Years and countries later, they reconnected and let's just say, Kai continued to be enamored by Huai and her beauty. Huai and Kai are both very involved with their church, Faith Baptist Church in Frederick, MD and naturally chose it to be the location of their wedding! Kai had even included the youth group (which he helps lead) in his proposal to Huai. Their church has a large green space which was the perfect spot for the ceremony and portraits with the reception being held inside. Huai and Kai used pink and burgundy flowers to line the aisle and to decorate the white ceremony arch where they exchanged their vows.

Huai and Kai's wedding day dawned in Frederick with some overcast skies but thankfully no rain was scheduled until later into the evening. As Huai walked down the aisle towards him, Kai kept his head down, wanting to wait until the last minute to see his beautiful bride. You could see him breathing deeply and Kai couldn't stop the tears when he did see Huai! The ceremony was officiated by three of the church's pastors in almost entirely Burmese. Although I didn't understand all of the words, the ceremony was deeply meaningful as it united Huai and Kai's marriage with faith at its center. The outpouring of love and support from their community to make this day special for Huai and Kai was incredibly evident throughout the day and I think it speaks volumes to how much impact Huai and Kai themselves also have on the people around them! Congratulations Huai and Kai! I am so happy for you as you begin this new adventure of marriage!!
