Fells Point Engagement Session | Molly + Michael | Baltimore Wedding Photographer
Since I grew up in the wilds of Western Maryland (haha), I didn’t really get a chance to explore Baltimore until my late twenties. Even after moving about 15 minutes away in 2010, I was shy about driving in urban areas so would rarely venture into Charm City. The last few years have given me more and more opportunities to explore Baltimore as I meet with wonderful fellow vendors and clients. Fell’s Point is one of my new favorite areas to visit which was perfect as it’s within walking distance from Molly and Michael’s Baltimore home. We met at the Pitango cafe for their consultation in early January and photographed their engagement session around Fell’s Point in April on of those magical spring evenings in Maryland where you are so eager for the spring warmth to hit but it's justttt not there yet! Molly and Michael love to explore the city and despite the chilly air coming off the water, we had a great time walking around the area, capturing those perfect moments between the bright sunshine and puffy clouds. I can’t wait for their Elkridge Furnace Inn wedding later this summer!
In one of the first emails that Molly and I exchanged, she shared a bit about her and Michael’s story. Here is a little bit of their story: Molly and Michael met about 5 years ago during grad school in Boston. After a few years of studying side by side Molly reached out to Michael via text and asked if he wanted to watch a movie together and the rest is history! They started dating as they finished up PA school which was an extra challenging time as it included 9 five week rotations in various specialties at various hospitals throughout New England. Michael would FaceTime Molly to watch Jeopardy together (ADORABLE!) which was one of the reasons Molly knew he was the one! After graduation, they moved to Baltimore to officially start their careers while being closer to Molly’s family.
After returning from a European trip last October, Michael planned a trip to the Shenandoah valley for a weekend of hiking and wineries while his parents were in town. He knew that the valley is a very special place for Molly and also invited her family to join in the weekend trip. On one of those perfect fall evenings during their trip, Michael led Molly onto the porch of their rental cottage and proposed as the sun set behind the Shenandoah mountains! In Molly’s words “the rest is history”!
