Ah! Fall wedding season is in full swing here in Maryland, and I couldn’t be more excited! For me it kicked off with photographing Molly and Michael’s Baltimore wedding at the Elkridge Furnace Inn on August 31st and what a beautiful start it was! Molly and Michael are such warm and kind people who love each other deeply while loving to laugh and enjoy life with those around them. I loved watching their interactions with their family and friends along with the quiet moments they spent laughing together as well.

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the Elkridge Furnace Inn, but I fell in love with the beautiful setting tucked into the forest while still being in close proximity to Baltimore. Molly and Michael shared that they knew they wanted a venue with indoor and outdoor space where they could have the ceremony and reception in the same location and Molly grew up in Howard County where the Elkridge Furnace Inn is located which was another bonus! They said “we loved meeting the owners (The Weckers) and hearing about how they ran their business, the personal investment they have in it and the dedication they commit towards creating beautiful events - Mr. Wecker is the head chef! We also liked how much fundraising they do for local organizations - Hopkins Children's, etc.” That in itself should tell you how kind Molly and Michael are!

Here is a little back story about them: Molly and Michael met about 5 to 6 years ago during grad school in Boston and after a few years of studying side by side Molly reached out to Michael via text to invite him to watch a movie together and the rest is history! There is more about their proposal on the blog post here! (Insert Molly and Michael’s Engagement session link)

Upon getting into her gown and before her first look with Michael, Molly and her dad shared a first look on the beautiful staircase at the Inn while her bridal party peered over the banister. As they embraced, Molly paused and looked back up the stairs saying “Did someone just tear on me?!” Everyone laughed as, in fact, a teardrop had landed on Molly’s shoulder from one of her bridesmaids!

After, Molly and Michael shared their first look in the back garden before taking photos with their bridal party at their ceremony space. This was such a great group and Molly and Michael couldn’t help smiling and laughing with each other and squeezing every moment of fun throughout the day. Even with a few vow fumbles, Molly getting a nice cut on her finger during the cake cutting (don’t worry, no stitches were required!), and some gown + sparkler action, the joy was palpable! The sweetest moment for me happened right after the sparkler exit. Molly and Michael sprinted to the parking lot, hand in hand and embraced. I heard Michael telling Molly over and over as they held each other “I just love you so much”. Cue all the tears! Congratulations Molly and Michael! I am ever so honored to have been a part of your day and can’t wait to see you guys again soon!
