D.C. and Meridian Hill Engagement | Sarah + Christian | Maryland Wedding Photographer

Christian and Sarah met at Penn State and have been dating for 7 years- mostly long distance due to Christian being in the military. 2016 was a big year for Sarah and Christian as they got engaged AND purchased a home in Laurel, MD. We met in Georgetown for their session - unfortunately the canal is getting a face-lift, but we were still able to capture a few moments with the stone architecture near the canal. Sarah and Christian also brought their Shih Tzu pup - Maggie to join in the fun as we explored Meridian Park, Sculpture Garden, and the Mall.

Washington D.C has been an important city in Sarah and Christian’s relationship - both their first date and engagement occurring at the Sculpture Garden. Sarah and Christian’s first date had been in the cold, so when Christian suggested to visit it again, Sarah hadn’t realized it was the same place (and didn’t realize it was the perfect spot for a proposal!) When I asked when they knew that they found “the one”, both Sarah and Christian said that a defining moment happened two years into their relationship with Chris was deployed. After weathering the complications and challenges of a long distance relationship, their commitment to each other was cemented.
