This year will go down in mind as one of the most rain filled in Maryland! Especially when the rain has seemed to strategically occur on wedding weekends! Truly though, there is so much beauty in every wedding day, regardless of rain which was the case with Mallory and Joey’s August wedding at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, MD

Mallory and Joey’s wedding dawned on an overcast day which quickly transitioned to rain right before the first look. The Overhills Mansion staff quickly transitioned the reception space into a dry location for the ceremony as Mallory and Joey prepared to see each other for the first time on their day. Mallory is a wonderful florist (Owner/Artist/Wizard at Violet Floral Designs) and designed beautiful antique yellow rose bouquets and arrangements for the day which complimented the dusty blue bridesmaid dresses that she chose for her bridesmaids to wear. When she arrived at Overhills, I asked how she was feeling, if there were any nerves leading up to the day. Mallory shared that she poured any nervous energy into the floral designs and overall was cool and collected - even with the unwelcome rain!

One of the sweetest moments happened right before the first look when I watched Joey beginning to tear up with joy and excitement that the day was finally here and he was about to see his BRIDE! There were many beautiful tears and few dry eyes from that point on and into the ceremony, especially as Mallory and Joey exchanged their personal vows. Truly, rain can’t stop true love and the joy that these two shared was infectious. They only had eyes for each other and were focused on truly enjoying the day together, infusing the day with their own personalities and not getting carried away with anything other than each other.
